DISCUSSION

Ozone should remain low overall today.

Today's weather should be similar to yesterday - cloudy and wind from SW. With SW wind, the cloud pattern in
Houston and Galveston can be very different, according to weather forecast. Forecast has a clear-sky
Galveston yet a cloudy Houston. With wind coming from SW, Galveston's cloud condition is no longer indictive
of Houston. It is likely that model overpredicts again today. The high ozone spot will be like yesterday,
around Crosby (North of Baytown).

Yesterday is quite cloudy most of the city with generally W/WSW wind. The high 79 ppb occured in Baytown
when southerly bay breeze impinged the main westerly around 1pm, creating wind stagnation in the area. It is
also interesting to see that in the afternoon the pollutants from Houston was carried to Texas - Louisiana
border (Mauriceville) and increased (relative to normal) ozone there.
